Hail history in Southlake
On March 14, 2024 — by HailTrace's count the busiest hail day on record in the United States — the North Texas storm formed just north of Fort Worth and tracked toward Lewisville Lake, dropping hail up to 3 inches. Spotters' photos from that evening ring Southlake on every side: hail near Highway 377 and 114 in Roanoke, multiple large-hail reports in Trophy Club, and more in Keller, all around 6:30 p.m. Three months earlier, on Sunday, June 11, 2023, the supercell that dropped a photo-measured 4.25-inch stone in Flower Mound put golf-ball hail on Trophy Club and 2.5-inch hail on the north side of Grapevine; HailTrace mapped inch-plus hail across roughly 1,500 Southlake properties that night, with a small pocket at 2.5 inches.
The neighbors' storms count too.
